Prototype V0.3
Here's the new version of the Prototype after the upgrade to XNA 4.0.
Besides the upgrade there've only been very few changes:
- The objects are now also affected by ambient, diffuse and specular lighting
- By pressing "L" you can switch between 3 lighting presets (similar to the ones I made screenshots of)
- By pressing "K" you can turn on/off Texture Blending for the Terrain. Texture Blending means that different sizes of the textures are used, depending on how far it is away from the camera. This gives you a higher detailed texture near to the camera and avoids that you can see the texture repeating far away from the camera. (Of cause at the cost of some performance)
To run this version you will need the XNA Redistributable Version 4.0. (The old 3.1 isn't needed anymore)

a few minor bugs to report, the insects still wont move
additionally, there is no graphic displayed when skill 1 is used, and also skill 3 wont stop, and it wont stop working.
Positive notes-the particle system seems improved, and the graphics appear more complete

Hehe crap, I was so happy that I finally got the new Animationsystem working that I've forgot to check the particle system
I'll fix that asap.
Regarding the movement, I still think it's just because you walk outside the navigation mesh. It's working fine at the start position, the enemy runs towards you doesn't it!?

I've fixed the particle effects, although the thirds skill might still look a little strange (well it always did ). But it's working again as it should, everything else is just tweaking the parameters..

nope, never. I will try launching the game and just stand there for a while, see what happens.

ok, I have attached pictures, please notice that the one minute has elasped (bottom left of the image shows the desktop clock) and the enemy position has not changed at all. One thing I will try is running the game in debug mode, once I set up with the svn and update the full file. This should offer options.

Kernelbase, lol! Did you install the new redistributeable? Maybe try to uninstall the old one.

nope, no water, and I have never found the chest either, but That may be due to idiocy.

OK I also removed the old XNA and now it works.
Everything is working properly. I tried the different light sets and ground texture modes.
The healing particles didn't stop after the skill timed out, though.
I also noticed a strange behaviour of the water's reflection.
As you can see, by moving in just a bit, the whole reflection changes appearance. It seems to have to do with the camera's distance from the lake.
The following two pics show that it also has to do with the orientation of the camera.
I went across the lake on the other side and noticed that when I looked at its centre, the reflection had a different appearance than when I turned slightly to the left or right.
I cannot say that it is a "bug" per se, but the reflection change happened instantly, making it look as if it was a flash.

The sudden change of the reflection is most certainly because of the frustum-culling of the terrain, meaning that parts of the Terrain that are not in sight of the camera don't get drawn for performance reasons. But as the water has a different viewpoint as the player this culling can result in the sudden change of the refelection. I'll look in to it and fix this in the next version.
